The Education (Re)Open

Sign up for updates

From the global pandemic, to systemic inequalities across race and class, to ongoing issues in providing high-quality learning experiences, there is enormous pressure on our education system, especially in Los Angeles. Teaching and learning have radically shifted, and educators and families have been on the front lines of supporting children educationally, socially, and emotionally. Yet, the ingenuity of school communities has not only persisted—but flourished.

To support, connect, and accelerate the work of school communities, USC Center Edge and the Andrew Nikou Foundation, in collaboration with global design firm, IDEO, will soon launch The Education (Re)Open to identify and highlight solutions for strengthening connection in school communities as they navigate reopening. This is a crucial and timely chance to meet the historic challenges and opportunities facing schools, in Los Angeles and beyond.

Catch up on Feedback Workshops!

What are Feedback Workshops?

Over the past three weeks, we’ve offered a series of workshops where you could get interactive support to help frame and refine your solutions through hands-on activities—including how you might brainstorm, report impact, and best adapt and scale your solutions. You’ll also learn more about the evaluation criteria and how to integrate key concepts from the Co-Designing Schools Toolkit.

These workshops will provide a fantastic opportunity to learn from and connect with IDEO staff and our partners, who help lead and support co-design in school communities. By attending, you will walk away with a clearer picture of how to make your solutions more relevant, impactful, and adaptable. There will also be opportunities to ask questions and offer thoughts and feedback through live chat. Please note that we will not be able to answer every question, but we will do our best to respond to the questions that rise up as recurring themes!

We share the recordings and slide decks with the (Re)Open community below.
